Sensing Products brings to Australia the high-technology security products for screening and surveillance. The Tek84 range of products have pioneered the use of ultra-low-dose x-ray imaging and developed products that have been brought to market by the some of the biggest players in the Homeland Security space. Tek84 technologies rapidly and safely screen for weapons, explosives, drugs and other contraband.

 

The range of  products have been widely deployed around the world by the TSA, U.S. Department of Defense, the State of Israel, and other Governmental Agencies.  TEK84 developed the world’s first body scanner (1991); the highest resolution surveillance camera of its time (2001); and the first drive-through car bomb detection portal (2009).

 

Tek84 also conducts research and development for Government agencies, including: the National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, Transportation Security Administration, Department of Energy, the Counter Terrorism Technical Support Office, United States Secret Service and the Israeli Security Agency

Prisons and jails are rapidly adopting body scanners to detect weapons and contraband hidden in body cavities and elsewhere on inmates and visitors. Unlike airport body scanners, these scanners use a low-level of x-rays transmitted through the body.

Intercept is a true breakthrough in this technology. Only 86cm wide, it ships fully assembled and rolls to the final site through standard doorways. Unlike other systems that move the subject horizontally on a platform or conveyor belt, each subject enters the scanner and stands motionless for 4 seconds.

Intercept provides a high-resolution scan of the full body, including the abdomen, in a single image. Other body scanners require two views for full coverage. Intercept complies with the ANSI N43-17 Federal standard for both General-Use (daily screening) and Limited-Use (weekly screening).

Fully Functional Automated Threat Detection (ATD)

Defender is the first general-public body scanner with fully functional automated threat detection (ATD). Examining raw images produces the best detection performance. However, privacy concerns have prompted the use of automated software for this task, insuring the raw images are never seen. Currently deployed solutions provide poor detection performance along with high false alarm rates. Automated Threat Detection (ATD), Tek84’s breakthrough software, provides superior detection with low false alarm rates:

Traveler provides the same thorough screening as our general-public body scanner, Defender, but in a modular design for quick set-up.

Used in applications such as dignitary protection, Traveler ships to the site in three rugged containers and takes 15 minutes for two people to setup.

Triple-mode screening is used to scan subjects in three separate ways:

  • Backscatter: to detect threats on the front and back

  • Forward scatter: to detect threats on the sides and in loose clothing

  • Ground-level: to detect threats on the feet and ankles

Depending on the application and privacy requirements, raw images may be analyzed or Tek84’s breakthrough software, Automated Threat Detection (ATD), may be used.
