Sensing Products debuted the Osprey small object radar at Security 2017, which this year returned to Sydney after a 3-year absence, and what a great show it was. Held over 3 days in the newly opened ICC at Darling Harbour, the exhibition hosted over 200 suppliers from the security industry. Nearly 5000 people from all over the APAC region travelled to Sydney to visit the show and of course many of those people stopped at our stand to see the latest unique innovation in perimeter protection.

Sensing are delighted to announce that they will be exhibiting for the first time at this year's Security Exhibition & Conference, taking place between the 26 and 28 July at the new ICC at Darling Harbour in Sydney. Sensing will be exhibiting on stand K30 near to the International Pavilion.

Sensing will be launching the Osprey range of affordable, multi-function radar sensors, designed to detect objects previously undetectable by commercial radar solutions. Osprey radar sensors are designed and manufactured by Sensing in Australia as part of a joint initiative with Corrective Services Industries.

In the excitement of the rapidly expanding drone market, many are overlooking the more sinister applications for the technology. The threat is definitely present though and, whilst the numbers of privacy related crimes using drones is still minimal, illegal use of drones is sure to increase as the uptake of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVS) surges. The Australian Government has certainly been aware of the potential threat for some time. In 2014, House of Representatives Standing Committee on Social Policy and Legal Affairs published 'Eyes in the sky' - a report from the inquiry into drones and the regulation of air safety and privacy.
